Powered by a Caterpillar C27 engine making 1050 HP (772 kW), the Peterson 5700C horizontal grinder has the power to handle the toughest jobs. At 78,000 pounds (35 380 kg) the 5700C is designed for operations that require frequent moves between jobs without a special permit. With a feed opening of 60 x 40 inches (152 x 102 cm) combined with it’s high lift feed roll, the 5700C can readily reduce a wide range of material including stumps. Peterson’s three-stage grinding process with an up turning rotor and large grate area enables the 5700C to produce materials to exact specifications.
The quick-change multiple grate system makes it easy to customize grate configurations to produce a wide variety of finished materials. Grates are removed through an access door on the side wall. The 5700C control panel provides self-diagnostics for faulty sensors and open circuits; it features a large LCD display. System pressure transducers and remote monitoring simplify set-up and provide complete engine and system parameters. The IQAN provides the operator with complete engine and system parameters to simplify set up to efficiently operate the unit. Fault indicators make trouble shooting easy.
